Description:
Northern Area Government Lab Is Seeking A Windows 2003/Linux Systems Administrator.
Candidate will be working in a research group of 3 and be responsible for managing lap tops, 80 workstations, and test beds. Candidate would be responsible for deploying software through central servers.
Must Have Skills: Experience supporting and troubleshooting Windows/Linux workstations and applications in a networked environment
4-6 years experience supporting users with popular desktop applications including: Microsoft Office, Internet Explorer, Thunderbird, Firefox, McAfee Anti-Virus software, Outlook, and Eudora Pro
Experience diagnosing hardware problems in PCs and laptops
Proficiency in Windows 2K/XP based applications
Familiarity with PC and Mac interoperability issues
Experience with Linux, UNIX or MAC operating systems would be a plus but not absolutely required
Strong Pluses: AFS, SAMBA, NFS, shell scripting, Perl, or Python
Experience with automated installation tools such as Ghost
